A green horse that has never been outside the grounds will be spooky, nervous, emotional and overreacting to all stimuli including rider. It is important to recognize this and act accordingly.

When your horse is very spooky and jumps off the walls it is a human nature to shorten the rein and keep it tight for better control. However, from the horse's point of view, you just made everything much worse for him.
