Important basics which we forget sometimes

Colonel had a three-day brake. Naturally, he was stiff today and most of my work addressed this issue. However,
he was heavy on the right rein and nothing I did helped to change that. It was frustrating.
At the end it hit me. Lately, I was very careful not to let my right rein long or
advance my right arm too much (I like to do that). It kept him more straight and up on the right shoulder. I think
I overdid it with the right rein and let him fall to the left. He did of course and he grabbed right rein for support. As soon as I
straightened him on the left rein he became soft on the right one. Such basics, that I'm embarrassed to talk about it. Thank haven
I didn't blame Colonel for being stiff. Otherwise, it would be a disaster. Oh well, tomorrow is another day and another ride
to try and sort things out.
Happy riding...
